Upload
- Select the format: FNB Official Statement (PDF), FNB Transactional History (Excel) or Other / Generic.
- Upload the file. CSV and Excel exports are read most reliably.
- Review the detected rows, then save. They appear under Bank statement records.
Allocate
Allocating tells Rentplug what each bank line was for, and creates the matching income or expense record. Unallocated lines aren't counted anywhere.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Not allocated yet. Tap Allocate. |
| Allocated | Done. Use Re-allocate to fix mistakes. |
| Already allocated | A transaction with the same date and amount was already allocated. Only allocate it if it's a different payment. |
| Submitted | Processed and locked. |
- Tap Allocate on the line.
- Choose the Property (or None for costs like bank charges).
- Choose the Unit, or leave Whole property for shared costs. For rent, pick the unit so it links to that tenant's lease.
- Choose the income or expense type and tap Save Allocation.
Suggestions: after a few allocations, Rentplug suggests the property, unit and type for similar lines. Always check a suggestion before saving.
Splitting: tap + Add split to divide one line across units or properties. You can save once Remaining shows R0.00.
Duplicates: if a matching record already exists (same date, within R1), choose to adjust it, replace it with the bank line, or allocate as new.
One methodIf you upload statements, don't also capture the same payments by hand.
